After I already showed Torii, the entrances to Japanese Shinto Shrines, I now would like to present doors and gates to Japanese temples, the Imperial Palace and Himeji Castle. In Japan the term „temple“ refers to Buddhist religious sites.
You will notice that some places were very busy. Nowhere though, did this pose a problem, at least before Covid-19, because the Japanese people are very considerate, dodging instead of jostling, and the international tourists adapt.

This for Dan Antion’s great Thursday Doors Challenge. Thank you, Dan for hosting!

Always looking forward to your feedback.

Now I would be happy to stand in a queue if it as in Japan …

Those are really long queues. I must have been lucky to have visited on days when there were no queues.,

I had to smile at the crowds in your photos. Many a time I have tried to photograph without people, but you have embraced their presence at these notable Japanese sites. Enjoyed this!
