In her Walking Squares Challenge, Becky asks us now to post photos about walking in the rain.
I haven’t been walking in bad weather lately. But when I went on the last stretch of the Munich Way of St. James in October 2019, it rained heavily and almost continuously for days. Until shortly before the finish in Lindau on Lake Constance I held out but then the path was flooded. I had to cover the last 10 km by bus.
Walking the Camino in the Rain was first published on Wanderlustig.
Me too! On the Swiss Camino last year I had a little bit of rain but I could cope with that. On the Munich Camino in 2019 it was pouring several days in a row and on that stretch there were hardly any restaurants or other places to keep dry.

Oh, to walk the Camino in rain! We had several rainy days on our Portuguese Camino and there were days that our hiking shoes were covered in mud … I think I prefer sunny weather over rainy days when hiking 😁.

I was a bit sad then that I didn’t make it to Lake Constance on foot.

ooh can understand why on a long distance walk day after day of rain would be overwhelming, thank goodness for the bus!
